Book Review: Practical Ansible, 2nd Edition

I want to express my gratitude to the authors, James Freeman, Fabio Alessandro Locati, and Daniel Oh, and to Packt for presenting us with this enhanced and improved 2nd edition of Practical Ansible!

This updated edition aligns with the latest Ansible version, making it an excellent reference for beginners diving into Ansible. The book covers installation methods, delves into Ansible internals, and provides intricate details about Ansible inventory, modules, and more. What sets it apart is the inclusion of custom modules and plugin development basics, making it a comprehensive guide.

Chapter 6 stands out, offering valuable insights for legacy Ansible developers grappling with the concepts of Ansible Content collections. I appreciated the chapters that discuss Ansible development best practices and delve into custom plugin topics.

In the third part of the book, the authors explore enterprise use cases, including network automation, container and cloud infrastructure management, and troubleshooting methods and tricks. This section adds practical value, making it a go-to resource for real-world scenarios.

A big thank you to the authors for their contribution to the learning community and to Packt and Linda for providing a copy of the book.
